Connie Geerts, born in 1965 in Southwestern Ontario, Canada, is the youngest of six children. Raised on a farm, she spent her childhood exploring the outdoors and drawing alongside her siblings. In 1987, she began her art career on the West Coast, where she developed a passion for acrylic painting while working as a video editor and exploring sculpture as a member of the Vancouver Island Sculptors Guild.

By 1997, Geerts was exhibiting her work in galleries and establishing consistent representation. After moving to Calgary in 2000, her painting style evolved to resemble broken up digital imagery, influenced by her background in video editing. In 2005, she discovered glass kiln casting, a process that allowed her to combine her love of translucent colour with the depth and dimension of three-dimensional forms.

From 1997 to 2025, Geerts appeared in television interviews, and her work was featured on decorating programs and in a variety of periodicals. Her art is held in both public and private collections, and in 2011, she received three American Art Awards.

Today, Geerts teaches painting and divides her time between acrylic painting and mixed-media sculpture. Her sculptural work combines cast glass or resin with contrasting materials, creating pieces that explore colour, texture, light, and form. Her work continues to be exhibited in galleries and shows, and she remains actively creating from her home studio in Calgary, Alberta.
