In this acrylic workshop, you’ll create a compelling portrait of a black bear, focusing on layering, warmth, and quiet presence. Connie Geerts will guide you through her approachable, method-based process, with special emphasis on her proven formulas for painting luminous, light-filled eyes and believable, natural noses—two features that bring animal portraits fully to life.
Rather than copying strokes, you’ll learn how to build form through value, softened edges and suggest fur without overworking the surface. Connie breaks the process into clear, manageable steps, making this class welcoming for beginners while still offering depth and refinement for more experienced painters.
You’ll finish the day with a completed bear portrait and a stronger understanding of how to approach wildlife faces with confidence and intention. All materials are provided—just bring your lunch and enjoy a focused, creative day in the studio.
